Artificial Intimacy, Erica’s current body of thesis work, explores the impact of technology on communication within close relationships, examining contemporary dependencies on technology to forge bonds and maintain connections. These acrylic paintings, which represent digital interactions on canvases proportional to phone screens, recontextualize intimacy through the lens of contemporary hybrid communication.
This body of work will be on display at GradEx 110, OCAD University’s 110th Annual Graduate Exhibition – Toronto’s largest free art and design exhibition - from May 7 to 11, 2025.
